Atlanta

Atlanta is the capital of Georgia and is the central metropolis of the Southeastern United States.  In recent years, Atlanta has undergone a transition from a city of regional commerce to a city of international influence, and has been among the fastest growing cities throughout much of  the1990s and 2000s.

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the world's busiest airport, is situated 13 miles south of midtown Atlanta and provides air service between Atlanta and many national and international destinations, many of which are direct flights on Delta.   The MARTA rail system has a station within the airport terminal and provides direct service to Downtown and Midtown.

Atlanta has more than 30 institutions of higher education, including the Georgia Institute of Technology, Emory University and Morehouse School of Medicine.  Atlanta also features the world's largest aquarium, the Georgia Aquarium, which officially opened to the public on November 23, 2005.
